Water Safety

At Open Minds Active, we’re passionate about helping people build confidence and stay safe in and around water. Across all our programmes, we offer expert guidance and supportive coaching to empower individuals of all ages and abilities to understand water safety, improve swimming skills, and develop a healthy respect for aquatic environments.

Whether it’s learning about cold water immersion in our cold water workshops or essential survival floating techniques in our learn to swim programmes, or gaining confidence in open water in our summer coaching sessions, we aim to make every experience near water a positive and secure one.

Did you know there are many different ways to float?

There is a lot of misinformation out there about how we float. The Black Swimming Association in partnership with Portsmouth University and the RNLI are about to launch groundbreaking research that dispels the myths and stereotypes around how we float and how everyone can achieve do it safely.
